The IBenC project was presented at the 20th IAGG World Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics in Seoul, Korea. This global conference took place from June 23 to June 27, 2013 and attracted around 3800 participants from all over the world. The theme was Digital @geing: A New Horizon for Health Care and Active Ageing, and during the congress great use was made of the advanced information technologies of the 21st century to discuss the various research, implementation, and policy initiatives that are necessary for enhancing the quality of life for older people. Kick off meeting of IBenC in Amsterdam: successful start!

At January 14th and 15th 2013, the kick off meeting of the IBenC project was successfully held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. During this meeting, representatives of all consortium partners from the six participating countries came together to officially start the IBenC project. During the kickoff, Work Package (WP) leaders shortly presented the content of their WPs and addressed specific issues and questions. These were discussed plenary by the consortium members. Furthermore, the Dutch FP7 contact point informed the consortium partners on the reporting rules and finances. The next consortium meeting will be held in January 2014. Overall, the kick off meeting contributed to a successful, proactive start of IBenC.
